Featured in The New York Times: Research on Culvert Flood Resilience
My research on flood risk in transportation infrastructure contributes to an active effort to identify vulnerable culverts and improve their resilience. A recent New York Times feature on culvert failures highlighted the importance of this work by featuring the NYU C2SMART Small Culvert Inventory and Resilience Metric Program, an ongoing research initiative focused on understanding and improving the resilience of culverts. Through this work, I aim to develop tools that support more informed infrastructure investment and strengthen resilience to flooding.
